With their new album ‘Any Joy’ successfully crowdfunded and due for release on 5th May via distinguished indie label Electric Honey (Belle and Sebastian, Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol, Miniature Dinosaurs, Be Charlotte, Finn Le Marinel) Glaswegian six-piece band Pronto Mama are making their return to the Tolbooth, having played the inaugural Strange Behaviours Festival in 2014.
Taking inspiration from their cultural surroundings, the band have created a collection of songs about hope and hopelessness, vice and virtue and how
love and friendship go hand in hand with hate and jealously. Blending jazzy tempos, uncommon time signatures and an alternative rock attitude with progressive pop hooks and emotive vocals, Pronto Mama exist in a world entirely their own vision and making.
Support comes from driving post-rock/alternative local band Dead Electric, who too will be familiar to 2016 SB Fest-goers plus anthemic indie outfit Mt. Doubt, co-fronted by local singer-songwriter Annie Booth.
