Norrie McCulloch album launch + special guest Scott Urquhart

Stirlingshire singer-songwriter Norrie McCulloch returns to the Tolbooth for an intimate album launch party in our Gallery space. Having recorded previous album ‘These Mountain Blues’ live with his band directly to analogue tape in the Tolbooth Auditorium, critical acclaim flooded in with a number of Radio DJs including BBC Scotland’s Iain Anderson setting tracks on regular rotation. A busy 2016 schedule followed with performances at Glasgow Americana, Summertyne and Southern Fried festivals, as well as an appearance on the Tolbooth Stage at Doune The Rabbit Hole.

His forthcoming full-length ‘Bare Along The Branches’ was duly recorded in the same manner, showing more of his country/folk stylings. His songwriting is raw, honest and influenced by many cult folk heroes including Townes Van Zandt, Dick Gaughan, Son Volt and Martyn Joseph.
