Curated by local metal musicians, the regular band night ‘Aggressive Youth’returns to its hometown with a line-up that could single-handedly revive the metal scene in Stirling.
Local metal musician and alumni of the Tolbooth’s song writing workshops, Gregor MacMillan is bringing metal back to Stirling in a big way with his regular showcase featuring some of the best emerging heavy music Scotland has to offer. With support from the Tolbooth, Gregor has become well-known in the local scene as both a musician and a promoter. Following in the wake of bands like ‘Lost in Echoes’, ‘Burn the Sunset’ and ‘O.C.D’ he is passionately driven to bring the community he loves back into the spotlight in his hometown.
Aggressive Youth started in 2016 with one simple aim: to bring some of the best metal and metalcore bands from around the country into Stirling. Since then, the show has evolved into a national success, staging showcases in other towns and cities across Scotland. The local metal scene was considered virtually non-existent before Gregor’s original band ‘Serenity Came Calling’ and others put Stirling back on the metal map with the first Aggressive Youth showcase. This continues with Gregor’s new band Bearers of the Divide and the return of Aggressive Youth this March.
Aggressive Youth organiser and Bearers of the Divide frontman Gregor MacMillan:
“This year we’re putting the aggressive back into aggressive youth, hard hitting bands with even harder hitting music. Bring your dancing shoes…it’s showtime.“
Aggressive Youth takes place at the Tolbooth on 29th March from 7pm, ages 14+.
